STRUCTURED STRATA
The vision for Structured Strata comes from nature as you will see in my concept images that follow. Layers of sediment in a mountain side, the natural tonal contrast of nature’s palette, and imperfect, organic shapes are what inspired the top of bed art. The sheen in the polyester/cotton blend jacquard of the comforter provides added refinement. The matelassé fabric used for our coverlet gives the impression of foliage or intertwining vines providing a beautiful softness and texture. Fabric manipulation and metallic touches in the decorative pillow designs give the collection an added modern edge and sophistication.
ART & COLOR
We stayed true to our inspiration in keeping with the organic form and tonal colors found in nature. This allows the purposefully chosen textiles and textures to shine.
DESIGN PROCESS
Photography, art, my surroundings, hand sketching - many things inspire me and I do not have one method. My favorite part of creating this bedding collection was getting outside and letting nature inspire my next design decision.
TECH PACK
This below tech pack was created for sample making and production. Structured Strata is a 5 pc set comprised of a comforter, 2 shams, a bedskirt, and a bonus coverlet. I included additional decorative pillow designs to be sold separately.
